Gratitude, and why it's essential to your fasting journey.

#ICYMI - This week's podcast episode talks about the importance of having a mindset of gratitude, consistently, throughout your fasting journey.


Have an attitude of gratitude?

While it may sound odd, and quite honestly it's not something you commonly hear about when most folks look up "weight loss methods" on the internet, but think about this for a second.


Before your fasting journey, how often did you find yourself just sitting and thinking, "my goodness, I truly love this method so much, it's changing and improving SO MUCH of my life, and I am so thankful for it!"? Probably not much if at all.


Now think about your first fasting victory (because I am sure you have many by now ;) ). A pretty powerful one, wasn't it? I bet it was a significant one because I bet you stuck with it even more after achieving it.


One of my favorite motivational tidbits is emotions create habits.

You get a positive emotion when someone says they like your hair, so you're more likely to style your hair the same way, right? Inversely, you get a negative emotion when you realize you don't like a new food you just tried, so you're less likely to repeat that experience.


The cool thing is that you can actually utilize this built-in mechanism within yourself on your journey.


When you reach a victory in your journey, take a moment to be thankful for it, celebrate it, express happiness and celebrate yourself. ✨💪


When you have a setback or tough time or things just don't go your way, take another breath and moment to where you can acknowledge the silver lining in that moment. Find something worth being grateful for. I promise it's not as difficult as it may seem, and the more you practice this habit, the easier it will be to pull yourself up when you fall again.


Remember, this is a marathon that we are aiming to hold permanence. Slow and steady wins the race! 🐢
